How to search
The directory can be searched using the form here. You can fill out all of the fields, or just one or two of them.
If you are looking for contact information for an organisation whose name you already know, enter the name in the "Organisation" field. If you only know a few words of the name, just enter them, and the organisation will still appear in your results.
If you are looking for organisations operating in a particular country, select that country from the "Country" field. Organisations that work in more than one country are listed in each country where they have offices. If you are searching for South African organisations, you can also chose to narrow results down to a particular province, using the "Province" field.
If you are looking for organisations that deliver a particular sort of service, select that service in the "Service area" section. If you select two or more service types in one search, you will receive information on organisations that provide any of the services you selected.
Example search:
If you want to find organisations that provide psychosocial support for caregivers of people living with HIV/AIDS in Zimbabwe:
1. Leave the "Organisation" field blank
2. Select Zimbabwe for the "Country" field, by clicking on the arrow at the end of the box and moving down the list until you reach Zimbabwe
3. In the "Service area" section, click inside the box next to "Psychosocial support for caregivers"
4. Click search
How to use the results
Once you have a list of results, you can choose to order them however you would like to. For example, if you want to order them by organisation name, click on the arrows next to "organisation" in your list of results.
To get the full details for an organisation click"view" at the very end of the line about that organisation on your results screen. Once you get to the full details screen you can then click on any word - for example, "Harare" - and find all other records in the directory with that word.
You can also click on "map" to see where the organisations are and to get directions to them. This function is most accurate if the organisations are in an area that has good coverage on Google maps, and if we have located a street address as well as a postal address.
If you want to print any information from your results, click on the printer icon at the top right of the page.
